I really love the new Best Mom Ever stamp set; the gorgeous roses and leaf images are PERFECT for coloring! So I did just that and colored these in a no line coloring style. For those of you that are not familiar with no line coloring, this is a technique where you use a light colored ink to stamp your images so that when the coloring is finished, you cannot see the outlines of the stamped piece.

Normally you would choose a really pale color of ink (such as Simon’s Barely Beige), but I personally prefer using ink colors that closely match the colors I plan to color with. For the stamping I used Hollyhock, Lake Shores, Fern, Jellybean and two new inks from Simon: Velvet Orchid and Clementine.

Coloring was very easy with these images because they didn’t have too many small areas. I have been enjoying using my Prismacolor colored pencils over top of my Copic coloring lately. These are great for adding fine details to my coloring, which is what I did today. I have all the colors used listed further down in this post.

Once my coloring was finished, I gold heat embossed a sentiment from the Mom and Dad Icons set onto Lavender cardstock. This piece was popped up off the colored floral panel. I also added some Nuvo Jewel Drops and glitter onto the flowers for some embellishments.

While my coloring may have been done, I was far from being finished! I next tackled creating a coordinating envelope for this card using the new Sending Flowers stamp set.

I love this set because it makes decorating envelopes that much more fun! After I stamped the frame and sentiment, I masked off that area and stamped all the flowers. Then I colored them in exactly as I had the flowers in the card. This took quite some time to do, but it was totally worth it!
