Christmas Tree Made from Mini Books! + New Dies for Tim Holtz Stamps from Simon Says Stamp!
Have you seen the new coordinating dies from Simon Says Stamp that match Tim Holtz stamps? Just in time for the holiday making season, these dies match with some of Tim’s classic Christmas sets! Having the dies gives you so many more possibilities when creating, and I’m so excited about them. I’m also participating in the blog hop celebrating this release—more on that at the bottom of the post!

I’ve used the Holiday Things and Tattered Christmas sets in this video to make a framed holiday decor piece—which features a tree made of mini books!

Tim Holtz recently taught a class for Simon Says Stamp—Halloween Curio. Even if you aren’t into Halloween, he shared so many ideas that are sure to spark something! I didn’t get to follow along and create the curio cabinet he made during class (which was so cool), but I was SUPER inspired by the miniature books he made. I decided to take the idea of making books and create a little library of my own—but then turn them into a Christmas tree!

Once you make a small selection of books (this project features 10 of them), you can arrange them into the shape of a tree. My favorite paper to use is an old dictionary or encyclopedia—the paper is often much thinner on these books, which adds to the fullness and realism.

I added extra details to the project, including some Metallic Droplets, a shrunken pair of bells from the Tattered Christmas set (watch the video to see how easy it was!), Snowfall Grit Paste layered onto different pieces for a snowy feel, and a Christmas word plaque!
