6 Gingerbread and Snowflake Projects with Simon’s Festive Fun Collection + Blog Hop
Do you love gingerbread? I think they are one of the most darling characters of the holiday season (plus they are tasty as a cookie, too!). The new Simon Says Stamp Festive Fun collection has a whole bunch of gingerbread and holiday candy themed products in it—some of which I designed! I’m going to be using these products today to create a whole series of tags, ornaments, and even gift bags!
This large tag uses the Simon Says Stamp Nested Tags die set. The new Gingerbread Man embossing folder and dies are SO cute and look darling stacked across the length of the tag. In the background I stenciled some of the Holiday Candies, and added some new Sprout gems around the cookies!
This tag is my favorite! It features a base made with the Scalloped Gift Tags die set from Simon. I colored the gingerbread man from the new Merry and Sweet stamp and die set that I designed with Copics. The Heartfelt Snowflake die is cut from glitter cardstock and was perfect for layering behind my gingerbread! I tied some cute red and white bakers’s twine around the bottom of the tag.
Want a quick and easy tag project? This one is SO easy! I cut some patterned paper from the smallest Scalloped Gift Tags dies and layered a glittery Heartfelt Snowflake die cut on top. The embellishment of some Prism Dazzling Gems was the perfect finishing touch on this simple tag. You could make multiples of this design in no time at all!
I love creating ornaments each year to give as gifts—it’s a tradition my momma started when me and my siblings were children. Each year we’d create something different and we would gift them to the people we loved. Even now as I am in my 30’s, that tradition has stayed very close to my heart and I look for new ideas to make an ornament for friends and family. This darling Gingerbread Stitching die from the Festive Fun release was designed by my friend Shari Carroll, based off of a handmade ornament I created last year. It turned out so cute and I was so excited to use it myself. I decorated my gingerbread with some Tim Holtz Confections, which I also covered in a bit of Rock Candy Distress Glitter.
Finally I have a pair of gift bags that I created with the release, which could be used for small gifts, gift cards, or even candies or cookies! These bags were created with Simon’s Gift Bag die set—I designed this die for Simon last year and it does all the hard work for you. All you have to do is cut it twice, fold on the score lines, and glue together!
For the bag with the bow, I used the new Fresh Holly Sprig die set, colored with some teal inks. I added a bit of of trimming to the sprig with Simon’s Giant Gift Bow die set, and embellished it with a few Cherry Dazzling Gems.
The bag with the gingerbread man used the new Merry and Sweet stamp and die set and I added touches of both glitter and Nuvo Drops to make the piece more festive!
Quite a few of the products I used together are inside this year’s advent calendar from Simon Says Stamp called the Gingerermas Wonder Box! I love advent calendars and I had great fun being on the team that developed this one for all of you.
One of my kitties Oscar is always “helping” me in my craft space—you often see him make an appearance in my videos! The day I was photographing all of my projects, he was excited to play with the ribbons hanging off of the tags. He was so cute sitting amongst the holiday decor, I just had to take a picture to share with you!
