Lots of Die Cutting Techniques + 2 Projects! Plus a Blog Hop + Giveaway!
Die cutting has so many possibilities—it’s one of my favorite techniques to create with! In this video I am going to share a few techniques across a couple of projects, including using dies with patterned paper, coloring die cuts, making a die cut window, and layering die cuts. I’ll be using new products from Simon’s Sweetheart release.
The card I made is sized at 5×7, which really showcases the beautiful patterned paper I used behind my die cut Whirl Diamond Plate. I also made a series of flowers from Simon’s Aurora Blooms die set and colored them with ink; the flowers are built by layering multiple pieces, creating a lot of dimension. The greeting I used is Simon’s new Bestie die and I paired it with the coordinating Reverse Bestie sentiment strips.
The second project I made is a box, which matches quite nicely with the card—this whole thing would make a great gift to someone! The box is made from Simon’s Pillow Box die and patterned paper; when I did cut it I also cut a circle window into the paper so it could be a window to the inside (I thought it would be cute to see candies or tissue paper through it). I decorated the box with the new Charming Daisy die, Mist sequins, and a foiled sentiment I made with the Reverse Bestie sentiment strips.
