3 Ideas, 1 Stencil! Tim’s New Distress Color Lumberjack Plaid!
The gorgeous new Tim Holtz Distress color, Lumberjack Plaid is the PERFECT color for the holidays! I had a blast playing with the new ink pads, spray stains, embossing glaze, and paint; so much so, that I made 3 cards. Each feature the same stencil, Christmas Foliage from Simon Says Stamp, but I will show you 3 different ideas using it! If you don’t have this stencil, feel free to swap it out for something you do have.
This first card uses the Lumberjack Plaid embossing glaze, along with other glaze colors: Rustic Wilderness, Uncharted Mariner, and Speckled Egg. I love how the glazes mixed to make new “colors”. For a sentiment, I chose the Peace Love Hope Joy die from Simon and cut it with Rose Gold Metallic Cardstock. The silver and gold half pearls are from Tim Holtz’s new Ideaology Christmas collection.
This festive tag could easily be a card, but I love how it turned out as a tag! This technique used the Lumberjack Plaid Distress Paint. I also incorporated other Distress Paint colors; Rustic Wilderness and Salvaged Patina. The sentiment is from Tim’s Bold Text Christmas die set and I replaced the “o” with his Fanciful Snowflake and Simon’s Bliss Snowflake die sets.
My last card is frosty and glittery! I made my own patterned glitter paper by ink blending the new Lumberjack Plaid Distress Oxide (and also Rustic Wilderness and Salvaged Patina), through the Christmas Foliage stencils. After stenciling, I layered one of Simon’s Tear-rific Adhesive Sheets over the pattern and covered the adhesive with Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter. How sparkly is that?! Simon’s Lea Snowflake and a sentiment strip foiled with red were the perfect pairings for this card!
