Stencil Layering Scene + Shrink Embellishments! Simon’s Cozy Hugs Release
Stencils are such a fun way to play with inks, paste, and techniques. I am using new products from Simon Says Stamp’s Cozy Hugs release, including the gorgeous Snowfall and Banks stencil. I also used a new product that I am very excited about; Simon’s Stamp and Cut Shrink Sheets! These are so cool because you can stamp and die cut any image and it will shrink down to 20% of it’s original size. I used these with the new Glistening Snowflakes set to make the snowflake embellishments you see around the sentiment.
The color palette for this card is a bit of a different twist than usual “wintry scenes”; I opted for teals and purples using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I also brought in a stencil I designed last year for Simon called Birch Trees. I love how they are layered behind the snow banks.
The Snowfall and Banks stencil has a really unique makeup in that you can create both the snowy hills AND the snow all from one stencil. I used Platinum Stardust Stencil Butter from The Crafter’s Workshop for the snow, giving it a fine silvery finish that matched up perfectly with my sentiment. The sentiment is silver embossed from the new Simple Holiday Greetings stamp set (also part of the Cozy Hugs release).
