2 Ways: Stamped Backgrounds with Simon’s May 2022 Card Kit
One of the most fun ways to use individual images from a stamp set is to piece them together to make custom backgrounds! You can play with the layout, the colors, and really create some one of a kind cards. In this video, I will be using Simon Says Stamp’s May 2022 Card Kit, Brushed Flowers.
My first card uses the Brushed Flowers stamp set and the mini ink cubes that are included in the kit. I wanted to create a multi-colored effect and the bright colors of ink were perfect for this!
Note that the ink cubes are only available as part of the kit. If you like these ink colors, you can purchase them as full-size pads.
With a rectangle and circle die, I cut my stamped panel to form a frame around my greeting. I used a sentiment from the Brushed Flowers stamp set along with a heart to stamp inside that circle frame.
The second card I created features the Brushed Flowers stamped and clear embossed over Doll Pink cardstock. This is an emboss resist technique, as I took some of the Ocean ink and blended it over the embossing to turn the unstamped areas purple!
I added a greeting from the Brushed Flowers stamp set, which is stamped with Rose and Ocean ink for a two-tone effect. The scallop border at the bottom of this panel was created by partially die cutting the Simon Says Stamp Chunky A2 Scallop Rectangle die. There are white Nuvo Drop added to the centers of the flowers; these match nicely with the white gel pen dots I added around the flowers.
