Add Foundry Wax to Distress Ink Smooshing for Gorgeous Gilding!
A big thank you to Simon Says Stamp and Tim Holtz for sending me the Foundry Wax early so that I could share this inspiration with you!
I am really excited for the gorgeous new Foundry Waxes from Tim Holtz! They are perfect for adding a gilded finish to your projects. I used it on a card today, but you can also use it on wood, metal, mixed media surfaces, and more. My card showcases ink smooshing over a dry embossed stencil design, with Foundry Wax applied over top for a metallic accent.
The stencil I used was Peonies and Leaves from Simon Says Stamp. I used a combination of Saltwater Taffy, Stormy Sky, Peeled Paint, and Bundled Sage Distress Inks to do my smooshing. For the card I added Gilded and Statue Foundry Wax.
The greetings on my card are from Simon’s Friend die and Well Wishes stamp set. A pink, gem-like button I had in my stash was a perfect finishing touch to this shabby-chic inspired design.
You may notice the metallic silver panel underneath the card; this was another idea I shared in my video (watch here or at the top of the post). I applied Sterling Foundry Wax over the Simon Says Stamp Exotic Vines embossing folder. Foundry Wax over embossing folder designs is something I am excited to try more of in the future–it looks SO cool!
