3D Box Cards! 3 Dimensional and Easy-Mail Cards + New Simon Release
I am SUPER excited about a brand-new die set that I designed for Simon’s And Back Again release called the Basic Box Card. When I designed the Basic Box Card, I wanted it to fold completely flat so it could fit into an A2 envelope–making this a very versatile die! In addition, I collaborated with Kristina Werner on this design, too; after I designed the Basic Box Card die, Kristina designed a couple of coordinating insert sets called Basic Box Card Hearts and Basic Box Card Clouds. These inserts fit perfectly inside the Basic Box Card and I love that we worked together to make this series of dies that make really cool, dimensional cards!
One of the cards I made with this die is a night sky scene. I loved how the Night Sky and Magic Star dies from Simon paired with the Basic Box Card Cloud inserts. The greetings I paired with the card are from a new sentiment strip set called And Back Again. The patterned paper is Echo Park’s Welcome Baby Boy collection.
I embellished the box card with sequins from Simon’s Frosty Mornings mix. Many of the cloud inserts I included in the box are cut from glitter cardstock; I really like the shimmer it provide to the card!
To fill out the card, I placed a panel of white cardstock on the backside of the box card. This is where I will write a note the recipient. I added a few stars on the panel to help tie in the design on the inside of the card.
After making the moon card, I wanted to make a love-themed card with the Basic Box Card Hearts inserts.
My Basic Box Card was cut from glitter patterned paper. I die cut the heart inserts with the Basic Box Card Hearts set and Simon glitter cardstock; the scallops are cut from white cardstock. My greeting is a sentiment strip from the And Back Again set.
The floral bird garden Basic Box Card is a creative way to use the Cloud inserts for a whole new look! I paired those products with the Layered Birdie die, Simple Stem die, and Sketched Rose Trio hot foil and die set. The sentiment on my card is from the new Friend Greetings set.
