Copic Colored Frosty Scene with Simon’s Cozy Wishes November 2021 Card Kit

I’m very excited about the latest kit from Simon Says Stamp, because the kit contains a stamp set that I illustrated called Cozy Wishes. The set features Scandinavian-inspired birdhouses and little birds to pair with them. I’m a big fan of birds and I enjoy watching them outside my studio windows as I craft; I have feeders right by the window and the birds frequent them every day (much to my cats’ delight)! In this card project I am using many of the kit contents to make a frosty, layered scene.

The background uses the new Berries and Leaves stencil from Simon Says Stamp; I ink blended through it using Laurel Green, Evergreen, and Schoolhouse Red inks.

For the birds and birdhouses from the Cozy Wishes stamp set, I stamped with Intense Black ink and then colored the images with Copics. I used the following colors:

• Dark wood areas: E42, E43, E44
• Light wood areas: E40, E42
• Teal: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78
• Red: R81, R83, R85
• Green: G20, G24, G28
• Gray: C0, C3, C6

Framing my scene, I have some of Simon’s Matte Silver Cardstock. My card base is made from Cream cardstock, cut and scored to an A2 size.

My card is embellished with splatter using Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain in Picket Fence, Unicorn Dust glitter, and Moonshine sequins (both from Simon).
