Why I Like Coloring with Karin Markers + Simon’s March 2021 Card Kit

I have been enjoying coloring with the Karin Markers of late. Have you tried them? They are so easy to use and have great vibrancy. In the two cards I made with the Simon Says Stamp March 2021 Card Kit, I’m coloring the window scenes with Karin markers!
This first card uses a no line watercolor technique; I stamped a Spring Windows scene with Antique Linen Distress Ink so that the lines would fade as I color. After coloring, I cut out the window panes out to turn it into a shaker card. I also partially cut the shutters so that they could have foam tape behind them for a little lift off the card.
You’ll see the Unicorn Confetti and Unicorn Dust glitters that I added to the window, along with the sequins from Simon’s Seaglass mix.
My second card uses the other window image from the Spring Windows set, but this one is stamped with black ink. I colored it with Karin Markers and added glitter to the image as I did for my first card.
This card also features a little tone on tone blending behind the window. I used Simon’s Marilyn stencil and Willow ink to blend the design onto my card.
I’ve been really enjoying these Karin Markers and coloring with them. In the video, I discuss a lot of my favorite features, including:
- The felt tips are so much easier to work with AND control
- They are super vibrant, which I love
- Can be used direct to paper or working from a hard board
- Colors blend out easily with little to no effort
There are a lot of great benefits to using these markers, so be sure to tune into the video at the top of this post to hear my thoughts. I was on the fence about purchasing them initially because I had Zig markers already – but these are so much more convenient and enjoyable to use! I am definitely glad I got them!
