Turning a Non-Holiday Stamp into a Christmas Card + Frosted No Line Watercoloring

I love being able to stretch my supplies whenever possible and use them beyond the seasons they are intended for! A perfect example of this is how I turned the Memory Box Harvest Love & Kindness set and used it on a Christmas card instead of the Fall theme it was designed for. You’d have never known this was an Autumn stamp if I hadn’t told you – am I right?!
I watercolored this image in my favorite no-line style and added frosty finishes that really give this a Wintry vibe. Distress Mica Flakes are on the leaves, glued down with Glossy Accents. I added additional Glossy Accents on the berries for a shiny effect.
Simon Says Stamp’s Stitched Flakes added great dimension for snow, and small Clear Droplets create the illusion of snow in the distance.
For sentiments, I paired the Peace Jotted Script die from Memory Box with a couple of holiday sentiment stamp sets from Simon; Stained Glass Greetings and Tiny Words Christmas. The smaller greetings are embossed with Simon’s Antique Gold Embossing Powder.
I encourage you to try this technique of using a non-Holiday stamp set and turning it into a Christmas card! See what sets you have in your stash that can use for this – I have a feeling you’ll find something that would work!
