Rainbow Watercolor + Honey Bee Stamps STAMPtember® Exclusive!
Sometimes you just want to play around with your favorite mediums and make a card. This project was exactly one of those moments! I really love the floral frame from the Honey Bee Stamps and Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® collaboration set, On My Mind.
The flowers are so pretty and I thought a rainbow of petals and leaves would be a unique way to use this image. I did the no-line watercolor technique by first stamping the floral frame with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Then I slowly colored everything with my watercolors. Once the coloring was done, I cut the image out.
I chose not to use the stamped frame that the original image creates, but rather cut that off and die cut my own, gold foil cardstock frame with Simon’s Nested Circles dies. My card base is also cut in the shape a circle with those same dies. One of the greetings from the stamp set looks great stamped inside the frame with Soft Navy ink.
To finish things up, I used some droplets from Studio Katia that have a stunning, holographic finish to them. This effect really highlights the colors in my watercoloring.
You’ll also notice I stamped a matching envelope! Made from Simon’s Soft Navy envelope, I gold embossed the floral image. I also added a bit of Chipped Sapphire ink blending to the edges, and splattered Nuvo Opal Quartz Aqua Shimmer on top.
If you love this Honey Bee Stamps STAMPtember® exclusive, be sure to grab it while supplies last! These sets are limited editions and once they, are gone they won’t be coming back.
