I’m SO excited that STAMPtember® is finally here! At Simon Says Stamp, myself and all my teammates work so hard to prepare for this exciting month, where we bring you all sorts of awesome surprises, collaboration sets, exclusives and more. I have quite a few new products in the STAMPtember® release, which I have listed down at the bottom of the post.
Let’s talk about today’s project where I’m masking stencils to create colorful effects. I love to stencil; playing with inks, pastes, glitters and getting an unlimited variety of looks really makes my crafty-heart happy!
If you have a stencil with a repeating design, you’ll be able to recreate this technique. In the video, I show you how to mask off a section of the stencil; using dye inks, we’ll color the sections with different colors! For my cards, I used the new Bubble Wrap and Deco Squares stencils from Simon’s STAMPtember® release.
You can then leave the stencil with just ink – or before removing the stencil – apply a layer of paste through the stencil! You can use a glitter paste, or other special effect paste; I used transparent paste and sprinkled Lawn Fawn Chunky and Simon’s Unicorn Dust glitter over it.
Have you ever tried masking with stencils? I encourage you to grab some of your favorites and mask off some patterns to create unique looks with things you already have! And if you want to grab some of the new STAMPtember® release products, you can find them all here!
