Easy Emboss Resist Watercoloring and Rainbow Butterflies
Sometimes you just want to create something FUN; bright colors, happy images and just total creative playtime. This project was that “something fun” for me!
I have always loved the images in the Beautiful Day stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. It had been a while since I last created with this set, so I’m excited I broke it out for today’s colorful card!
When I worked on this project, I wasn’t exactly sure what direction I wanted to go with it. That’s one of the beauties about crafting is that it is an adventure – all the time!
I started by white embossing the leaves and butterflies from the Beautiful Day set and then had fun watercoloring everything in.
Once everything was colored and die cut with the coordinating dies, I arranged the images onto a simple Distress Oxide blended background; the Squeezed Lemonade really makes these rainbow colors pop!
Since I was having fun, I couldn’t pass up the chance to add some sparkle to these butterflies; some Simon Says Stamp Strawberry Shortcake sequins and some chunky glitter glue were the perfect finishing touches.
Have you made any cards lately “just for fun”? I’d love to hear what you’ve been working on – let me know in the comments!

Where can I find the Butterfly stamps you used to create your beautiful work of art? SSS says stamp set No Longer Available however, SSS has coordinating dies.
I’m so sorry, Karen. It appears that Simon has discontinued that set. :( The set was from a couple years ago.
Gorgeous card! You always make beautiful cards!
