Simple Baby Card Scene [Featuring Simon Says Stamp]
Lately, I noticed I was in need of baby cards in my collection. I hadn’t made one for a while, so I thought creating a baby card with the new Lifting Hearts stamp set from Simon Says Stamp would be a fun use for this set.
The Lifting Hearts stamp and die set happen to be something I illustrated for Simon’s Hey Bestie release. While this set is being used to make a baby card today, when I illustrated the set, I wanted to make sure it could be used for things beyond baby cards. With that in mind, I included sentiments of encouragement, thanks and love too.
So to make the card, I stamped the critters onto Neenah 110lb cardstock, coloring them each with Copic markers. I placed the critters onto a background that I ink blended with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink. I kept the blending light, because I knew I was going to add glitter and embellishments to create a “magical” air on the card.
The embellishments I incorporated into the card were iridescent hearts and clear sequins. On the balloons and present, I added clear glitter.
Finally, I incorporated sentiments from the Lifting Hearts stamp set, embossed in white on colored cardstock and stacked along the right side of the card.
I love how this card turned out – and the fact that I added a new baby card to my stash! Are you working on any baby cards?
