Hello crafty friends! The newest collection from Simon Says Stamp, Believe in You is another beauty and I’m so excited to be featuring a few of these new products in today’s card.
This card showcases the new Faceted Stripes stencil, Carnation Frame die and the Thanks & Encouragement stamp and die set. I used a “ghost blending” effect on this design, where I created a subtle stenciled pattern that complements the intricate floral die.
To get the “ghost” effect, I start by apply the ink (without the stencil) with blending brushes (any brand of blending brush works for this). By using the blending brushes, I have light base of color on the paper. Then I place the stencil over the paper and reapply the ink; this time through the stencil and with an ink blending tool for a heavier application of ink. The result creates a much more subtle background that looks great with the main element of your card!
Speaking of the main element, that beautiful floral is the new Carnation Flower die. Cut with the ghosted background I had blended, the flower continues the pretty stenciled design and gives a very cohesive look to the card.
Be sure to check out the video at the top of this post to see how I created this card! I hope it inspires you to create with the new Simon Says Stamp Believe in You release!
Thanks for visiting me today; I will be back again tomorrow with more to share!
I just want you to know I video was so informative!
Very nicely done Nina, love the ghosting on the flower, super pretty.
