Intricate In Lay Die Cutting with Simon’s Celebrate You Release
Hello friends! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today, as I am sharing some more inspiration using the new Simon Says Stamp Celebrate You collection!
I really loved the Filigree Circle die in the new Celebrate You release from Simon. I don’t know why, but it reminded me of an embroidery hoop! I decided to use one of my favorite die cutting techniques on this card, which is in lay die cutting.
I cut the Filigree Circle from white cardstock; at the same time I also cut it from Guava, Moonstone, Green Apple, Cotton Candy, Peacock and Sugarplum cardstocks. With those colored die cuts, I in-laid all the negative pieces into the white die cut circle.
The greeting I used is from the new CZ Design, Hey Mama die. I used just the “mama” portion of the sentiment and cut it from Cotton Candy cardstock. For a supporting sentiment, I used a small greeting that I found in the gorgeous, Daisy Bouquet stamp set.
Of course, everything needed to be put onto a card base; I decided a Neenah Desert Storm base looked best, and I added a bit of interest to the card by stamping the Star Flower background with embossing ink. Love the effect of tone-on-tone stamping!
Finally, I used the Bonnie Blue and Honeysuckle Nuvo Drops on some of the circle areas of the Filigree Circle and that completed this cute, embroidery-inspired card!
I hope you are inspired to create with the products I used today – or that you can incorporate this technique into your next card project using dies you already own! Thanks for visiting me today; I cannot wait to return with more inspiration for you!
