Fun to Color Christmas Card

Hello friends! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I love making an easy card that requires very little thought process. Do you ever make those kinds of cards?

Simon Says Stamp has a whole array of gorgeous coloring prints, illustrated by Suzy Plantamura; her recent collection of prints called Snowmen feature darling scenes of frosty snowpeople that can be colored and easily turned into a handmade card (there are even sentiments already included on each one!). Today I used one of those Snowmen prints to make this pretty Christmas card!

For this card, I used Copic markers and then watercolors for the sky behind the snowman. It’s so much fun to use multiple mediums on a single project, since each one does different things. For watercolors, I used one of my favorite, deep blue colors by Prima. This midnight pigment called Blackberry (from the Decadent Pies set) is so rich and intense, perfect for night skies!

For embellishment, I placed additional “ornaments” on the tree with jewels from the Pretty Pink Posh Holiday and sequins from Simon’s Christmas Magic mix. Inside each sequin, I added a dot of Morning Dew Nuvo Drops for extra dimension and shine.

Finally, I finished everything off with some dots of white snow in the sky, using a Signo pen… the snow I embellished with the new Moxi Glitter Glue. This dimensional glitter glue is chunky and fun; I have really enjoyed using it so far on some of my projects!

There is also a Moxi Dimensional glaze, which is just like Glossy Accents, but I find the dimension is even better! I used it on the star and carrot nose of the snowman.

Creating cards with coloring prints like the ones from Suzy Plantamura and Simon Says Stamp is so easy and is perfect for when you need a last minute Christmas card! You can use any medium of choice to color them, and they can even be embellished beyond coloring like I did today!

I hope you are inspired by this fun and easy project! I enjoyed making this card so much; always remember that joy is at the heart of our crafting hobby! The important thing is that YOU enjoyed being creative, no matter how long or short a project took to complete.

Have a fabulous Wednesday everyone!
