Masking vs. No Masking + Altenew Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello everyone! Welcome to my stop as part of the Altenew November stamp and die release blog hop! If you have already been hopping along, you should have arrived from Lilith Eeckels’ blog.
I am excited to be working with the new Story of Us stamp set; this set would be perfect for decorating memorable scrapbook pages, or creating cards with a loving theme as I did today.
The cards I made with the set feature two different ways to create a similar design. The red floral card features a masked version, which requires more time to create of course. However, if you are looking for an easier way to make this card, in the video I also show how to create it without masks.
These pretty layering stamps create some artistic flowers and Altenew’s ink sets make the layering even easier! I used both the Red Sunset and the Cool Summer ink collections on these cards, plus a couple of green inks.
These cards are great for mailing because they have very little bulk. The most dimensional aspect of the cards are the Nuvo Drops on each berry image; the colors were Strawberry Coulis and Sea Breeze Jewel Drops
Speaking of mailing, both cards have coordinating envelopes! I used Simon’s Soft Navy and Mint envelopes with the Floral Shadow stamp set from Altenew to do some tone-on-tone stamping. This makes the cards even more special when given to the recipient!

Your cards are so beautiful !!
Wow amazing cards! I actually love the one what is not masked! Gorgeous!
Wonderful cards. Beautiful flowers. :)
Love the navy blue card I think that the color is just stunning on your card. I do like the masking technique better.
Nina- Lovely cards….Love your designs and videos! TFS
I love side-by-side projects where you change just the one thing so we can really see the difference it makes, because I rarely think about those little details until they’re highlighted for me. So this was a fascinating video to see exactly what the difference in the looks is, and I can see the value of both of them (both artistically and time-wise). I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. And, of course, your cards are gorgeous. I feel like this set of layering flowers is a little looser than some of Altenew’s previous ones, which makes for a fun, whimsical look. Again, thanks for sharing and teaching! I appreciate it!
Such pretty florals and color combos! Love these!
Thanks for the inspiration! Love your card!
Wow what wonderful catds I love this November release from Altenew. Xx TFS XX
I love the flowers and all the beautiful colors.
Totally awesome cards Nina. Both are amazing. Love the berries – they are the perfect addition
I think I prefer the no masking. I’m not sure if it’s because of image placement or the colors. :D
so many wonderful ideas and beautiful works!
Beautiful. The blue card base is the perfect backdrop for those flowers.
Love the thought to make low bulk cards for mailing and matching envelopes! Such a perfect touch!
Love your work. Thanks for sharing your techniques.
