The silhouetted birch trees really captured my attention with this set – though the snowmen are SO cute. But when I saw the silhouetted birch trees, I immediately thought of a wooded sunset, the trees dark against the colored sky. With that in mind, I paired the set with the Simon Says Stamp Flowing Vine Collage die set.

Both the stamping and ink blending was done with Distress Inks; you can see the entire process in the video below!

Because I was going for a winter scene, I knew I wanted to create an snowy/icy appearance to this card. By putting my sunset scene inside a shaker, I was able to make it appear as if it were snowing; those Iridescent Confetti sequins from Pretty Pink Posh enhance the ethereal feel of the scene beautifully.

With some Tonic Studios Nuvo Glitter Drops in the White Blizzard color, I turned the Flowing Vines Collage die cut into icy branches. I love how the glitter drops make them look like they are ice-encrusted!

Finally, to bring out the colors in the sunset and confetti sequins, I used some Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Sparkle jewels and adhered them onto the “icy branches”.
