Happy Saturday everyone, I’m back with a new Saturday Spotlight video! I heard a lot of great feedback from many of you saying that you enjoyed my last Saturday Spotlight video, so I wanted to bring another one to you again this week.
This time last year, I featured a recessed watercolor card using Neat & Tangled products. I love the look of recessed die cutting, as it gives our favorite products a whole new look!

The set I used to make this card was the Succulents Journaling Card stamp and die and was paired with both the Bible Journaling stamp set and the Hexastar stencil.
During the watercoloring process of this card, I experimented with Distress Inks and how they blended together on this succulent image. It is fun to see where the water makes the color go and how it ends up drying. The beauty of watercolor is it’s unpredictable nature.

In the video, I also share my thoughts on the background of the succulents and how I wasn’t pleased with the way the colors were turning out; I felt it was getting too dark. By attempting to brighten it up a bit, I was able to salvage the background and turn it into something I liked. So I hope that encourages you to never give up on a project too quickly. Because there is usually a way to fix it!
