Paper Christmas Ornaments + Simon’s December Card Kit
Hi crafty friends! Today is the release of the brand new December 2016 Merry & Bright card kit from Simon Says Stamp!
This kit features a collection of AMAZING products, which I know you will be excited to receive! The pattern papers immediately caught my eye when I opened the kit box and I was really loving the bright, happy Christmas colors.
I thought it would be fun to use the papers to create ornaments. I used to create origami designs when I was younger; it was always so rewarding to see a flat piece of paper turn into something intricate and detailed… and doing something like this makes me remember those things.
I’ve put together videos for each ornament, so that you can see how they were put together and follow along to make them yourself! You can check them out below…
PAPER FOLDED SCALLOP ORNAMENTS
This one features a scallop-edge design using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Circle Stackables dies; however, you could create this same design without the scallops using a plain circle die (or other shapes!)
I used the Doodlebug pattern papers that were included in the kit, along with the blue cardstock. I also used the Simon Says Stamp Anna snowflake die and Nuvo’s Pure Sheen glitter to add additional details to the ornament.

PAPER CHRISTMAS GLOBE ORNAMENT
This “globe” ornament features a bit more intricate looking design, but in reality, it wasn’t too much harder – nor took any more time – to make than the first ornament! I again used the Doodlebug papers from the kit, along with the blue cardstock.
For finishing touches, I added just some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, but the impact is huge! I added them in little patterns inside each of the triangle areas of the ornament; this little touch really creates a sparkly effect that I think is the perfect way to finish off the design.

Such a wonderful idea for a beautiful Christmas ornament. Where can we buy the wire used to hold the snowflake ornament together? Thanks for sharing!
