Snowy Scenes + Simon STAMPtember Release

Hi friends! HAPPY STAMPtember!!! Today is day one of the annual month-long (and much anticipated) stamping party hosted by Simon Says Stamp, and we are kicking things off with a HUGE release of amazing new products!

STAMPtember 2400x2400

Today I am featuring a few of the newest stamps and dies included in the STAMPtember release, one of which is the Arctic Christmas stamp set that I designed for Simon! Here’s a look at the stamp set:

This set I designed is inspired by the huge coloring addiction that has swept through crafty-land! I love coloring myself and look for every excuse to do it! :)  This stamp can be used either horizontally or vertically, which makes it perfect for any type of card!

I also designed three other stamps in this month’s release; Forever After (an anniversary/wedding themed sentiment set); Running with Your Heart (as the name suggests, a runner-themed set); and Henna Patterns (inspired by the Henna designs that are common in Middle Eastern cultures, this set is meant to be used to create intricate backgrounds). Here’s a look at all the other stamps I designed:

I wanted to show you how you can use the Arctic Christmas stamp set in both the horizontal and vertical card formats. Here’s a look at the vertical version first…

For this card, I stamped the image onto white cardstock with Simon’s Intense Black ink (because it is Copic-friendly, since this is what I used to color my images on this card). The colors I used are as follows:

  • mountains: BG0000, BG32, E70, E71, E74
  • penguins: BV0000, BV31, BV11, R01, R20, Y28
  • tree: G09, G14, G19, Y17, Y19, BG32, BG15, RV55, RV09
  • scarves & hats: BG32, BG15, RV63, V06, N1, N3, Y17, Y19,

I fussy cut the entire scene out, as I wanted to pop this up off of my background. The background was created by ink blending a few Distress Ink colors together and then adding white embossing paste over top to create snow.  The effect is super fun, don’t you think???

I added the sentiment onto my card using the new Painted Believe die; this was cut from Doll Pink cardstock and I added a coating of Spectrum Noir glitter overtop for some shimmer and shine. The last piece to this card was adding a simple white frame around the scene, which I created using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die.

My second card features the stamp used in the horizontal format! In this one I used Zig Clean Color markers to do some watercoloring; I’ll be walking you through the building of this card in the video below.
