Pretty Pink Posh May Release Blog Hop
Well hello there and welcome to my stop along the Pretty Pink Posh May Release blog hop! For my card today I have chosen to work with the new Stitched Essentials dies, as well as quite a few of the newest iridescent sequins! I have always loved the 6mm iridescent sequin collection Paulina has had in her shop for some time now, and was over-the-moon excited when she told me she was bringing them in as 4mm sized as well!!
I also have used a couple of Pretty Pink Posh’s adorable stamp sets in my card too; Rainy Days and Birdie Friends. I wanted to create a cloudy, rainy feeling sky to go with the umbrella and of course I turned to my distress inks for this because I love the way they mix and blend with water to make interesting effects and backgrounds.
For my background I used the ink smooshing technique, but you could also create the same type of effect using a paintbrush and water or ink blending. You could also substitute the distress inks for traditional watercolors or dye inks; you won’t get quite the same “water spot” effect as the distress inks gave me, but it will still look beautiful!
