In-Lay Die Cut Focal Point

Hello Everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by today for a fun card I have to share with you featuring new stamps and dies from Concord & 9th!

Concord & 9th recently unveiled some awesome new products for their April release and I was so excited when Angie asked me to be one of their guest designers for this month! I loved the fun Friend Like You stamp and die set and this is what I have used for today’s card.

T0 create my card, I started off by die cutting the Friend Like You die from white cardstock. I removed (and saved) all the letters that spell out the sentiment so that I could color them each with my Copics. I used BG15 for the teal blue; YG06 for the green; YR12 for the orange. I chose these particular marker colors because I wanted to match up the words as close as possible to the scallop stamped images I wanted to add to the die cut element.

The scallop stamp is from the coordinating Friend Like You mini stamp set and I used Audrey Blue, Green Apple and Orange Soda dye inks to stamp the scallop three times underneath some of the words. I layered a second piece of white cardstock underneath my die cut and fit all the colored letters back into place inside the negative spaces.

Once I had my die cut put back together I layered some Audrey Blue cardstock underneath for an extra pop of color. I also added Wink of Stella clear glitter to all the letters. This entire process was a bit time consuming, but really worth it because I love the fun look it gave the letters… super bright and happy!

But then if that wasn’t time consuming enough, I decided to get a bit crazier… I stamped a background of hearts using a stamp from the Concord & 9th Flourish set (also brand new!) and Buttercream dye ink from Altenew. I die cut a fancy border around all sides of the card base using a My Favorite Things die set and then glued a bunch of tiny confetti hearts all over the background (which are from Pretty Pink Posh). That took quite a bit of time but the result was fabulous… it shimmers in the light like crazy!
