Clean & Simple Distress Stenciling + Whimsy Stamps Reveal #2

Well hello there and happy Tuesday everyone! I’m so happy you have stopped by for my second reveal in the Whimsy Stamps March release!

Today we are showcasing the new Handlettered Encouragement stamps, which are a set of sentiment stamps that can be mixed and matched to create your own custom encouragement greetings.

march 2016 clear sneak 2

I handlettered all of the large words included in this set, which is something I really enjoy. Brush scripts and fonts are really trendy right now and ever since I was young I loved playing around with different font and handwriting styles, so this set is really exciting for me!

For the card I’ve created using this set, I’ve used the large “friend” sentiment and paired it with two of the smaller supporting sentiments to create a sweet card perfect for that special friend in your life. I heat embossed the large “friend” sentiment onto vellum with black embossing powder and fussy cut it out with some precision-tip scissors.

The background of my card was created using a couple of stencils and some distress inks (the leaf/flower stencil is from Penny Black Inc and the honeycomb background is from the Crafter’s Workshop). The distress ink colors I have used for blending over the stencils are Crushed Olive, Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass and Fossilized Amber.

I then splattered some black ink onto the background to add to the artsy-painted look of the background and layered the background with some die cut frames. I also added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins from Autumn Harvest and Share Kindness mixes to finish off the design.
