Clean & Simple Watercolor Valentine & News
Happy 1st Monday of 2016 everyone! I hope your holidays were fun, relaxing and happy… always great to spend time with the ones you love at this time of year too! Anyway, I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today because I have lots to share…
I’m over at the Simon Says Stamp blog today with a fun video tutorial that features stamps and dies from Neat & Tangled to create this window shaker card! I hope you’ll pop on over there to check it out.
Next up, over on the Pretty Pink Posh blog there is a HUGE prize up for grabs… as in, $100-gift-certificate-type-huge! How do you win you might ask? Well, you have to which Design Team members made each of these cards in this picture:
If you guess right, you’ll be entered into the drawing to win a $100 shopping spree to the Pretty Pink Posh online store. Like, how cool is that???
Speaking of design team members, this fun matching game is in conjunction with the announcement of the new Design Team line up for Pretty Pink Posh. Here is the new team… you’ll recognize many familiar faces returning once again, but also some new faces as well!
So, to round things out for today, I’ve got a clean and simple Valentine to share with you that features a bit of watercoloring and lots of die cutting!
I created this watercolored background using some Tim Holtz distress inks; Dried Marigold and Picked Raspberry. These two colors look PERFECT together, don’t you think? I also added some water droplets using a Perfect Pearls water-mix that I created… which adds just the right amount of shimmer and shine!
Once the background was created, I die cut it using the Memory Box Stitched Heart Layers die set. This set has a bunch of really great heart dies in it and I used every single one of them in this card! I simply nested them onto the background panel and ran the entire set through my Big Shot machine.
After everything was die cut, I took the pieces and layered them up onto my linen cardstock card base, alternating between adhering the pieces with foam tape and liquid glue. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Simon and Dexter stamp set that I created and I heat embossed it onto some black cardstock.
Finally, I finished off this clean and simple card bu adding a few Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around the heart cluster and that completed my design! I really liked how the clean and simple look lets the watercolored hearts really take center stage on this card.
Sorry for the long post, but there was a lot to put in and wanted to make sure I covered it all! I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card and that you’ll be stopping over to Simon Says Stamp and the Pretty Pink Posh blogs for a bit more fun. Thanks for spending some time with me… happy creating! :)
