Clear Embossed Shaker
Happy Thursday everyone! I am back today to share a fun twist on a shaker card that I’ve created and I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
I’m a big fan of shaker cards; they are so much fun to make and even more fun to give to the recipient. There are many ways one can make a shaker, many ways you can fill them, and many ways you can decorate them. For my card, I embossed my transparency sheet to create a beautiful, clear design overtop of my shaker elements.
This is super easy to do, and creates an amazing effect to your shakers! I simply took my transparency sheet and ran it through my Big Shot machine with a We R Memory Keepers Next Level embossing folder.
Because I designed the shaker to be clear all the way through to the inside of the card, I built the shaker as follows (from top layer to bottom): stitched frame, embossed transparency sheet, foam tape, sequins, another sheet of transparency (not embossed).
Once everything for the shaker was put together, I then attached the shaker element to my card base which I had die cut the same rectangle shape into to create a window that is the exact same size as the clear shaker.
To decorate the card, I used snowflake dies from Simon Says Stamp Stitched Flakes die set and the Penny Black Inc. Crystal Trio die set. I then added a clear gem onto the center and layered the embellishments onto the card with foam tape. The sentiment is created by stamping a sentiment from the Neat & Tangled Very Merry set.
Isn’t this such a great way to add some interest to your shaker cards??? I love how this one turned out, it has a very ice-like feel, especially with the Winter Snow sequins from Pretty Pink Posh used as the shaker elements!
