Foiled Backgrounds

Hello everyone! I am here today with a card I created as a CASE of my friend Ruby Naz. Ruby is a sweet and dear friend of mine and I am proud of her talents and achievements.

Ruby is being featured over on My Scrap this week and she has a challenge for visitors to make a card based on a color scheme she loves; black, gold, white, silver and pink. I also drew inspiration from this design she made here to create today’s shaker card…

I didn’t do any stamping in this card (I can barely believe it!!), and instead focused on dies and some foiling techniques to create some interest in this design.

I started off by foiling a gold polka dot pattern using Thermoweb Deco foil and a toner ink printed background; for the foiling I used my laminator, but you could use a Minc machine as well. Once the paper was foiled I die cut it with stitched rectangle and circle dies from Simon Says Stamp.

My shaker is created by making a pocket from a page protector; I simply taped two sheets of page protectors together on three sides and filled the pocket with sequins and beads. After I filled the shaker, I then sealed up the opened end of the pocket with some more tape; you can also use the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool for this too.

The sentiment is from a Neat & Tangled die called You Can Do Anything and I cut it from black cardstock and silver foil paper before layering them all up together.

Keeping in line with Ruby’s signature CAS style, I didn’t add too much else to this card; I tied a pink ribbon around the bottom of the card and layered everything onto a black card base.
