Newton’s Nook Reveal Day #1 – Holiday Smooches

Hello Everyone and thanks for stopping by my little haven called “crafty-land” today!  :)  This is day one of the Newton’s Nook Designs October release, and I promise you, this release is going to put you into the Christmas spirit for sure!

 

 

Today we are revealing the adorable Holiday Smooches stamp set, which has so many cute “kissing under the mistletoe” themed images! I have chosen to use both the penguins and the birds in my card…

 

 

I colored all my critters with Copic markers and fussy cut them out, leaving a white border around the edges. Copics used: B45, B97, B39, YR23, Y15, C00, C1, C3, R22 for the penguin bodies; YG05, YG03, R46, R59 for the penguin scarves; R01, R22, R46 for the birds.

My night sky was created by blending some Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch distress inks together and I added water droplets around it to create some interest. The stars are gold and solver heat embossed using stamps from the Newton’s Curious Christmas stamp set.

 

 

The elements around my scene include die cut trees from the Pretty Pink Posh/Simon Says Stamp Darling Friends die set, snowy hills using the Stitched Hillside Borders die set from Lawn Fawn, and a glittery bow die cut from the Pretty Pink Posh Twine and Bows die set.
