I Miss You
Hello everyone!
Today begins another challenge over at the Lia Stampz blog, and I am excited to share the card I’ve created using a sweet little fox from the new Woodlands digi stamp set!
For this week’s challenge the theme is “Embossing”. You can use dry embossing, heat embossing… whatever floats your boat! For my card, I thought it would be fun to create a twilight setting, and heat emboss the moon and stars for a shiny, dimensional look.
I began by printing the fox onto some white cardstock and coloring her in with watercolor pencils. I added some details using brown and white gel pens, before fussy cutting her out.
I then printed the sentiment “I miss you” onto my card base, using the font “DK Lampion”. This font is has such a fun, whimsical feel, and works perfectly with the fox.
I stamped and white heat embossed the Moon and Stars stamp by the American’s Crafts. I then inked a twilight sky in the left corner of the card using Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire distress inks.
The grass is created from some cardstock that I hand cut into a sloped hill and inked with Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Forest Moss distress inks. I added some shading using a brown pen, and adhered it to my card with foam tape. My little fox is layered atop the hill with some more foam tape.
For some finishing touches I added a bit of Wink of Stella glitter to the sky, and some faux stitching around the edges of the card.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my take on this week’s challenge at Lia Stampz! Be sure to pop on over and visit the other gal’s in the design team, and see there projects as well!
