New Baby Congratulations

Hello everyone! I am back to share another card with you featuring the Penny Black Inc., Betsy Bluebell stamp set, this time in the form of a baby card.

I was inspired by the CASology “News” challenge for this week, to use a baby theme for this card. I began by stamping little Betsy with some StazOn ink onto watercolor paper. I watercolored her with my Derwent watercolor pencils and fussy cut her out once all the watercoloring was dry.

Cutting a 4 3/4″ square card base from watercolor paper, I stamped the word “baby” repeatedly across the middle of the card. On a piece of vellum paper, cut into a banner, I stamped the sentiment “congratulations on your…”, from the Cindy Etchinaw Big and Small Says it All set, with some StazOn ink.

With these elements in place, I began moving onto some die cutting…

I die cut the white frame using the Spellbinders Celebrations Pierced Squares die set, as well as the pink clouds using the Lawn Fawn Spring Showers set.

Now that all my pieces were ready, I began putting the card together… I adhered the frame to the card base with foam tape and little Betsy tucked under the frame edge, with foam tape behind her. The clouds are adhered to the frame with regular adhesive and I tucked the vellum banner behind Betsy with a bit of foam tape.

For some embellishing, I added Wink of Stella glitter to the clouds, and parts of the Betsy image. I also added some Glossy Accents to her eyes, the little ladybug, and the centers of the flowers.

And finally, to finish everything off, I stamped a continuation of the sentiment on the inside, stamping out the words “new baby” with the same Cindy Etchinaw stamp set used on the front of my card.
