Just Because…
Happy Thursday!
I’m still trying to figure out how it is really April already… where did the time go??? Still feels like winter in Maine, with a bunch of snow still on the ground and temps barely cracking 35 or 40 degrees most days. Maybe spring is on its way soon! :)
Anyway… today I have a clean and simple card to share with you, which uses some fun stamping and die cut layering!
I began by die cutting the word “hello” with my Silhouette Cameo; I created the hello die cut using the font “Halo Handletter”, as I really like the script on this font. I cut the “hello” out a total of four times from white cardstock.
Moving on to my card base, I selected the polka dot cluster stamp from the Simon Says Stamp “Sending Happy Thoughts” set, as well as a few pigment ink colors. I then began stamping the polka dots onto my card base in a pattern, letting the colors mix and create other shades as I overlapped the inks. I also stamped the same pattern onto one of the hello die cuts, before adhering them all together to create a thicker element.
I adhered my ‘hello’ stack onto my card base with liquid adhesive and stamped the word ‘just because’ from the Hero Arts “Everyday Sayings” stamp set with StazOn ink.
To finish off this clean and simple card, I punched a little heart from some cardstock a few times, layered them all together, and covered it with Wink of Stella clear glitter.
So that finishes off the card! I really love how the “hello” just kind of fades into the background, yet stands off because of the dimension we gave it!
I hope you’ve enjoyed, and thanks so much for stopping by!

I really must try this clever technique – it looks great in the polka dots and the heart is such a sweet embellishment! Thanks for playing along at Colour Q!
Love this design and the mix of colours. Thanks for joinimg Uniko
