Ooopps

Hello! So happy you’ve stopped over today for this fun, clean and simple card that I’m sharing… my design today features an adorable cat image from Penny Black Inc., which I thought would be great to turn into a cute ‘I forgot’ card.

I began by stamping the cat from the Penny Black Nine Lives stamp set in the bottom left portion of my card with StazOn Jet Black ink. With my Silhouette Cameo, I die cut a speech bubble mask from some copy paper and used the negative to do some ink blending. I used Aquatic Splash chalk ink, teal pigment ink and Peacock Feathers distress ink to create an ombre effect inside my bubble.

I dried the ink and then stamped the sentiment “ooopps” with the Milo’s ABCs stamp set by Lawn Fawn and Versamark ink; the sentiment was then heat embossed with white embossing powder. For a bit more stamping, I stamped some bubbles from the Avery Elle Storybook stamp set with some more of the Aquatic Splash ink.

Moving on, I used my Derwent watercolor pencils to add color to my images; orange and brown tones for the cat and some teal to color in the bubbles. With a white paint pen I added some highlights and details to the cat, for a bit of extra interest.

Lately I have really been into scoring frames around the edges of my cards to help finish them off, and for this card, I scored a double frame around it with my scoring board and a stylus. I also applied some Glossy Accents on the eyes and nose of the cat, as well as to all the bubbles floating in the background.

And finally, because I wanted to continue the sentiment to the inside of the card, I stamped “I sorta forgot” with some more StazOn ink onto a cardstock panel and scored a double frame around the edges, as I had for the front.

So that completes this whimsical, “I forgot” card, which could be used for a variety of occasions, such as apologies, belated birthdays, and more! I hope you enjoyed, and thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  :)
