Bake Me Happy
Happy Sunday! So glad you’ve stopped by my little crafty corner!
Today starts a brand new challenge over at LiaStampz, and this week we are challenging you to create a project using a beautiful springtime color scheme, featuring warm oranges, yellows, greens, grays and browns. Everyone is welcome to enter, and the use of LiaStampz images are not required, but encouraged! The lucky winner of the challenge will receive a gift voucher to the LiaStampz shop, so be sure to stop by and join in on the fun!
For my card, I’ve chosen to work with the “Cook Girl” digi set… I printed her out onto some white cardstock, coloring and shading her with colored pencils. Once she was completely colored, I took some fine tip scissors and fussy cut her out.
I created the word “bake” inside my Silhouette Studio using the font “Dancing Script OT”, and offsetting it at 0.125″. The offset piece is what I used for my die cut word; I used some yellow polka dot paper for the die cut, and inked the edges with Wild Honey distress ink. The rest of the sentiment typed in a Frente H1 font and printed out onto my cream A2 card base.
I used some Iced Spruce distress ink to create the ground along the bottom of the card, and punched some tiny hearts from some matching patterned papers. I adhered the girl and the die cut “bake” onto my card base with dimensional adhesive and adhered the hearts with liquid matte adhesive.
For some finishing touches, I rounded the corners of the card, added some faux stitching around the edges with a white gel pen and tied some brown baker’s twine around the top of the card.
I hope you’ll join us this week for the color challenge over at the LiaStampz blog! Also be sure to check out the amazing projects created by my fellow design team members:
