Birthday Panda
Hello everyone!
Today I have a sweet, little-girl themed birthday card, featuring an adorable panda fairy from the DigiStamp Boutique!
I totally love how cute this panda bear is… with her little crown and bow, and sparkly wand, this is a card that would make any girl smile on her birthday!
I began creating this card by printing the digi stamp out onto some white cardstock and coloring it in with Derwent pencils. I added white dot details to her wings and cheeks, and applied Wink of Stella glitter to her wings, bow, crown and wand. I fussy cut the little panda out with some fine tip scissors and for a bit of extra shine, I applied Glossy Accents to her eyes, nose, crown and wand.
For this card, I really wanted to work with the yellow, pink and black color scheme in this week’s Cupcake Inspirations challenge. I love how the colors pair so nicely together, and it made for a very bright and happy card I think! So…
Going with that color scheme in mind, I paired some pink and yellow patterned papers from the Recollections “Home Basics” paper pad; the pink for my “sky” on my background, and the yellow for the paper on my card base.
The clouds in my design are hand cut; I sketched out some loose, puffy clouds onto a piece of both white cardstock and vellum paper. I then fussy cut them out, adhered them together and added some faux stitching using a white gel pen. The clouds were then layered onto my pink background “sky” using foam tape.
My panda fairy is adhered to the panel using foam tape, and is positioned above the white cloud. For some added interest, I scattered some gold stars and rhinestones around the background and drew some white dot details as well.
My sentiment is created from a simple white cardstock banner (1/4″ wide), and is stamped with a sentiment from the Penny Black Inc. “Sweet & Cute” stamp set. I wrapped the banner around the edge of the background panel and adhered it down with some foam tape.
Finishing up the card, I layered the background panel onto some white, scalloped edge cardstock, and attached both pieces to my card using foam tape. A pink knotted bow positioned around the bottom of the card, ties it all together.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun birthday card for today… Thank you so very much for stopping by!
