Celebrate Always
Hello! Thanks for popping by today. I’ve been on a bit of a birthday card kick lately, and today is no exception! :)
I totally adore this cupcake stamp from the American Crafts Little Princess Collection… that cherry-on-top is just perfect! I stamped the cupcake onto my watercolor card base and colored it in with Derwent watercolor pencils. I then stamped the sentiment using stamps from the Stamps of Life (“Raccoons 2 Love“, stamped in StazOn Jet Black ink and “Birthday 4 Subways“, stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz ink), as well as the gold dots from the Simon Says Stamp “Celebrate” set (also stamped in the Golden Glitz ink).
To embellish my cupcake, I added Rock Candy distress Stickles to the chocolate icing for a “frosted” look, as well as some Wink of Stella clear glitter on the cherry and cupcake wrapper. For some dimension, I also added Glossy Accents to the cherry.
I layered my panel onto some black cardstock with foam tape and then mounted both pieces onto my patterned paper card base with some more foam tape.
To finish it all off, I added some Wink of Stella to the black cardstock, and some gray ink on the edges of the patterned paper.
This card is very sparkly (if you follow my blog, you know I love to add some sort of sparkle to almost everything I create!), and I love how the cupcake turned out! I hope you’ve enjoyed, and be sure to stop back soon, as I have another cupcake themed card to share with you as well.
Thanks for stopping by! :)
Inspiration & Challenges
I was inspired by the colors in the Curtain Call “Jelly Bean” challenge to create this card, and I’ve entered it into the challenge.
Beautiful card, I love the cupcake and stickles from the frost. Perfect. hanks for playing along Curtain Call Challenge :)
Great card! The Stickles does make the perfect frosted look!
