Repetitive Stamping

Hello! I am back to share with you a rich and elegant repetitive stamping wedding card, featuring stamps from Altenew and Heidi Swapp.

I really love the Vintage Roses stamp set from Altenew… the designs are so fun in how you can achieve a layered, detailed image by stamping the different pieces on top of each other with different inks. For today however, I wanted to work with the base image only, and use this to create a glittery gold background.

I began by stamping the leaf image onto my navy cardstock panel with my favorite gold ink, Delicata’s Golden Glitz. I found this ink at the end of last year, and since getting it, it has since become my go-to gold ink pad because I love the richness and vibrancy of the ink.

Once I had my panel stamped all over with the leaf image, I took some Heidi Swapp gold color shine and first misted my paper with it, and then took the nozzle out and flicked on larger ink splatters. I love how shimmery this makes the paper!

Next, I dried my panel completely, as I knew I wanted to stamp an emboss my sentiment (from the Heidi Swapp “September Skies” stamp set) somewhere on the panel, but at the time was unsure as to where. I finally decided I liked my sentiment in the bottom right corner, and I embossed it with some Ranger white embossing powder. For a final detail on this panel, I added some white dots with a gel pen.

I inked a piece of white cardstock with the Golden Glitz ink, to layer behind my navy panel. I then adhered the panels to my card base, which is covered in some navy and gold polka dot paper. I inked the edges of the card base with some navy ink, and tied a white ribbon around the bottom portion of the card.

A very different card for me, as I don’t often use such dark colors! But I like how it ended up working out, and I hope you’ve enjoyed too! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Inspiration & Challenges

The white, gold and navy color scheme for this card were inspired by Altenew’s March “From Places Abroad” challenge, and I’ve submitted this card into the challenge.

The other source of inspiration was from the Runway Inspired “Oscars Red Carpet” challenge #79, and the card created by Mayuri for the challenge. I liked how she used a large background stamp as the primary focus for her card, and her color scheme is very similar to what I had chosen to work with based on the Altenew challenge. Be sure to check out Mayuri’s card over at her blog… it’s stunning!
