Bee Mine
Hello Everyone!
Today I am back to share with you a sweet little Valentine’s Day card! The inspiration for the layout of this card was provided by Paper Smooches current Sparks Challenge over on their blog, and I thought the bee digi stamp would be the perfect focal point for the Valentine I had in mind…
Using some yellow patterned papers, I printed out and fussy cut the first bumblebee. Before printing out the second bumblebee, I flipped it horizontally, so that the bumblebee was facing towards the left, instead of the right.
The bumblebees are layered upon a die cut heart made from the Echo Park “heart” cut file and some off-white paper. Layered behind the heart, in order are:
- an off-white paper from the “Painted Posies” 12×12 pad by Craft Smith
- a pink flower pattern from the Craft Smith “Charming Charlotte” 12×12 pad
- a blue and gold dotted paper strip from the “Painted Posies” paper pad
- a gold scalloped strip from the “Painted Posies” paper pad
- scalloped edged heart, using a piece of pink paper from the American Crafts “With Love” 6×6 pad
The sentiment is created inside my Silhouette Studio using the font “AlwaysHere“, set to 32 pt. I sketched it out onto a 1/2” piece of that same off-white paper using a gold gel pen and cut some banner slits into the right end before adhering it to my card.
An off-white ribbon is tied around the left side of the card into a knot, while a piece of yellow baker’s twine is tied around the knot in a bow. Some little hearts, punched from off-white and light pink paper, are adhered to the card with foam tape and covered with a coating of clear Wink of Stella glitter.
Details on the bees include Glossy Accents on their eyes and wings, clear Wink of Stella glitter on their wings, and each are wearing a tiny heart. Finally, some faux stitching with a white gel pen finished off the card.
Don’t you just love how sweet these bumblebees are!? You can download the file from Paper Smooches site, where they have many other free digital stamps for you to choose from as well!
Happy Creating! :)
