Hello everyone! I am honored to be guesting with Spellbinders today for their Indie Collection release blog hop! There are lots of pretty die designs in their Indie Collection, of which I will be using three… the Layered Monarch, Layered Tulips and Hugs Expressions sets. I created the butterfly first, by cutting the wings with Cream, Sweet Mango, and Burnt Orange cardstocks; the body of the butterfly is cut using Dark Chocolate. I layered all the pieces together with Tonic Smooth Precision Glue Pen (which I LOVE) and added a bit of shading with a Copic marker. There is some Tonic Aqua Shimmer pen on the wings too for some sparkle!

The Layered Tulips are cut from Cotton Candy, Bubblegum, Green Apple and Green Leaf cardstocks. I adhered all the layers together again with the Tonic Studios glue pen and shaded both the petals and leaves with Copic markers. As with the butterfly, I put some Aqua Shimmer glitter onto these die cuts too.

All of the flowers and the butterfly are popped up off of my card base, which also has some interest. I had layered some navy patterned paper onto the card base, and popped a white cardstock panel up off of that. The white panel was cut with Simon’s Wonky Rectangles die, and has the Bohemian Lace background stamped onto it with Barely Beige ink. There are some splatters of watercolor in the background too for some extra texture.

Finally, I added my sentiment onto the card! I cut the word “hugs” from Guava cardstock three times, then popped that off the card with foam tape. The smaller sentiment is from the stamp set that goes with the Hug Expressions set. The gorgeous navy and gold patterned paper I used needed a balancing element, which is why I chose to use Antique Gold embossing powder on Soft Navy cardstock for this small greeting.
