Newton’s Nook Reveal Day #3 – Pick a Pumpkin

Hello and I’m so happy you’ve stopped by for day #3 of the Newton’s Nook September release week! Fall has arrived and its time to start thinking about pumpkin everything, and today’s reveal showcases lots of pumpkin inspiration!

For my first card today featuring the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set, I have this cute little scene that I created by pairing the set with two other favorites from Newton’s Nook; Falling into Autumn and Sweetheart Tails.

 

 

I stamped the pumpkins onto watercolor paper with distress ink (Wild Honey), and watercolored them to create shading using Dried Marigold and Rusty Hinge distress inks; Tea Dye and Walnut Stain were used to watercolor the stems.  Once they were dry, I fussy cut them out.

My critters are stamped onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Colors used: V0000, RV66, R81, G00, YR15, YG41, Y21, E50 for the owl; W00, W1, W3, W5, N1, N3, R22 for the squirrel.

 

 

When creating this card, I wanted to have a golden sky incorporated into the design, so I decided to do some ink smooshing to achieve this. I used Scattered Straw and a little Wild Honey to create the background.

To finish everything up, I layered my panel onto some gold foil paper and scattered some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around my scene (Orchid, Aquamarine and Ballerina Pink).

My next card features not only the Pick a Pumpkin stamp set, but the coordinating die as well!

 

 

For this card, I used the die to create a shaker pretty and bright shaker card. I die cut the pumpkin into my background panel, which is decorated by ink smooshing some distress inks onto watercolor paper (Picked Raspberry, Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold).

The pumpkin inside my shaker is stamped with Versamark ink and has a coating of both Perfect Gold Perfect Pearls and clear embossing powder on top of it. My sentiment is heat embossed using the Falling into Autumn stamp set by Newton’s Nook.

 

 

I filled my shaker with sequins from the Pretty Pink Posh (Gold 4mm sequins and Tropical Days sequin mix) and also scattered these same sequins around the outside of my panel.
