Newton’s Nook Reveal Day #2 – Tranquil Tides

Hello Everyone, and welcome to day #2 of the Newton’s Nook release week! Today’s release follows the underwater theme as yesterday’s Mermaid Crossing release, and I am sharing a unique way to use these solid stamped images!

 

I wanted to give these images some fun detail, and thought a great way to do this would be to turn them into outline images and color with Copic markers!

I started off by planning out the colors I wanted each of my images to be; I then stamped each one onto white cardstock in a second generation of a coordinating Distress Ink color. Distress inks work well with Copics, and stamping in a second generation allows the ink to be faint, yet still visible enough to know where to color.  Once everything was colored, I outlined each image with a black multiliner.

 

 

My background is created by blending some distress ink colors together; Broken China, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire. I flicked on some water droplets and stamped some of the bubbles with those same distress inks before adding Glossy Accents overtop.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies and the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio  set to die cut my panels and sand. Some Wink of Stella glitter and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finish off the card.
