Newton’s Nook Reveal Day #1 – Mermaid Crossing

Hello Everyone, and welcome to the August Newton’s Nook release week! This release is a really fun one, and has some great and unique images to add to your stamp collection!

Today’s reveal features the beautiful Mermaid Crossing stamp set, which includes some really cute accent images that can be stamped in a variety of ways. For my card, I wanted to create a background for my little mermaid using the smaller images included in the set. I stamped them in Memento ink and colored them with my Copic markers.

On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped one of the mermaid images and colored this with Copics as well. For the tail of the mermaid, I wanted to color in such a way so as  to reflect a more “magical” and “dream-like” feel; to do this, I blended some teals, pinks and purples together and I love the result!  I fussy cut the mermaid out, and covered her tail and starfish with Wink of Stella glitter and Glossy Accents.

I really love the sentiment in this set… it includes some really great sayings to pair with your mermaids. For this card I chose to use the “we’re mermaid for each other”, and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.
