Stitched Embellishment Cards + Tips & Tricks + STAMPtember Hop
Hi friends! HAPPY STAMPtember! Today is the celebration blog hop for the AMAZING STAMPtember® event, hosted by Simon Says Stamp!!
If you’ve already been hopping along with us, you should have arrived from the amazingly creative Shari Carroll’s blog! If you are just joining in, I have the full hop order listed at the bottom of the post.
STAMPtember® is a very special time of year and I LOVE the fun, festive atmosphere that this HUGE celebration evokes into the crafting community! STAMPtember® helps promote the love of paper crafting and sparks inspiration into the lives of every crafter, which then touches even non-crafty people because they are receivers of the handmade cards and paper crafting projects that crafters like you and me create! And what is better than spreading kindness and love to the family and friends we have in our lives??
Some of the new products in this year’s STAMPtember® release include these ADORABLE Plush Dies: Little Owl, Gentle Fox, Sweet Elephant and Deer

These Plush dies are really fun to use with felt to create cute little critters, ornaments and more! But I also love to use these dies outside of the “usual” way and make embellishments for my cards instead!
In today’s video, I’ll be walking you through some tips and tricks on how to build these little cuties, as well as share some of the techniques I used on each card, such as:
Making dimensional snow…
Creating a fun die cut background and altering the die cut pieces to make new shapes…
Making little flower embellishments and creating a debossed background…
Tone-on-tone background stamping…
And a lot more!!!
So make sure you tune into the video below to see these dies put into action! I also used a bunch of other new STAMPtember® products on these cards, including the Birch Tree Window die, the Arctic Christmas stamp set, the Hydrangea Blooms stamp set and the Tiny Dots and Hearts background stamp!
For those of you interested in the floss I used and how I store them: I use the Janlynn Cotton Embroidery Floss, stored in my Darice Floss and Needle Organizer. I wrap each floss skein around a plastic bobbins to prevent tangles; I prefer the plastic kind over cardboard because they won’t wear out. This storage solution is perfect for me and the container tucks away easily inside my draw of felt and sewing supplies.
WATCH THE VIDEO
In the video above, I mention a few other videos that might be helpful: see this video to learn how to stitch the felt plush critters together, this video for creating watercolored embellishments similar to today’s cards and see this video for how to create stitched vellum shakers using the plush dies (the last two videos also feature how to stitch them together).
