Double Frame Shaker + Hop

Well hello there! Welcome to my stop along the Pretty Pink Posh March release blog hop! If you have been hopping along already with us, then you should have arrived from the awesome Joy Taylor’s blog.

I also have two other posts for today. If you are looking for one of my other posts, see these links: Watercolored Critters + Whimsy Stamps Reveal #4 or  Neat & Tangled Reveal Day #4.

So how about some Pretty Pink Posh inspiration?!?! I’ve chosen to work with the cute little Birdie Friends stamp set, coordinating dies, as well as the Scallop Circles dies and Easter sequin mix… lots of new stuff being featured in today’s card!

Double Frame Shaker_3

I used the adorable three little chicks from the Birdie Friends stamp set for my card and colored them with Copics. The colors used are listed out below:

  • chicks: Y000, Y00, Y11, Rv00, R21
  • grass: YG01, YG03, YG25 (the grass was die cut using a My Favorite Things grass border die)

I created the shaker by die cutting the largest scallop circle from white cardstock; I layered a piece of transparency behind it and then added a layer of foam tape all the way around the backside of the frame and transparency. I filled the shaker well with the sequins from the Easter mix and also a few Sparkling Clear 8mm sequins, before attaching my blue sky background onto the foam tape.

Double Frame Shaker_1

To create the double frame effect, I used a second scallop circle (this time from the smaller die in the Scallop Circle set), and adhered it onto the shaker with foam tape.

My sentiment is from the Rainy Days stamp set, also by Pretty Pink Posh, and is heat embossed in silver onto vellum. I attached that onto my card using clear Kool-Tak dimensional tape, which I love using for all my translucent papers because it is practically invisible, especially when compared to regular foam tape.

Double Frame Shaker_4

And of course, I needed to add a bit more embellishing to the card, so I used the Pretty Pink Posh Twine and Bow die set and cut some Cotton Candy cardstock to create a cute little bow for my frame; I even added a little mini gem to the center to add to the sparkle and shine that I have going on inside the shaker.

To finish off the card, I layered my shaker frame onto a 4 1/4″ square card base, which I stamped the Peeps 6×6 background from Simon Says Stamp onto in some Perfectly Peach dye ink from Altenew.
