Layered Die Cutting + Simon’s DieCember Release Blog Hop!
Hello friends! Welcome to my stop in today’s DieCember® release blog hop, hosted by Simon Says Stamp!
If you have been hopping along with us already, you should have arrived from my sweet friend, Cathy Zielske’s blog.
WATCH THE VIDEO
In today’s video, I will be showing you how I created this simple and elegant Christmas tree card. The large 5×7 card size is perfect for framing the Leafy Christmas Tree layering die that I designed for the DieCember® release.
The background behind the tree is ink blended with some toned Distress Oxides, and I gold embossed the edges of the background; which happen to match the gold snowflake “star” and the gold embossed sentiment I layered onto the tree too.
If you want to learn how I made this card, be sure to watch the video at the top of this post!
MORE INSPIRATION
Want to see a couple other cards I created with the DieCember® release?
I’m LOVING the Stylized Angel die – which I felt paired perfectly with the new Burst die. The angel is layered onto an ink blended background, which features flecks of Finetec watercolor and silver Nuvo Drops. The sentiment comes from the Inside Christmas Greetings stamp set (another set I designed for Simon!).
I had so much fun designing the new Winter Foliage Frame die, which I was really excited to use on a card! I colored the die cut with watercolors and layered it onto a background that I dry embossed with the Snowflakes stencil from Simon. A few snowflake dies and a simple greeting finished off this classy Christmas card!

Great variety of cards. 5×7 cards are my go-to size so it’s nice to have dies that can fill up the cardfront.
