Hello everyone! Welcome to Simon’s Friends release celebration blog hop! Recently, Simon came out with a bunch of new products, perfect for Valentine’s Day and beyond. I’m sure most of you have seen it already and that you love this release as much as I do! Today, during this special hop celebrating the release – and friendship I might add! – you’ll be seeing loads of lovely inspiration from many amazing designers. Here on my blog, I’m sharing 3 unique idea so for using some of my favorite stamps and dies from the release including: Stained Glass Love, Modern Flowers, Grid Frame, Wonky Cross Hatch, plus the Radiant stencil.
[/fusion_text][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_title margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” size=”1″ content_align=”left” style_type=”none” sep_color=””] STENCILED INK BLENDING + SEQUINED PATTERN [/fusion_title][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_youtube id=”https://youtu.be/4_zbTbPC3tk” alignment=”center” width=”1045″ height=”587″ autoplay=”false” api_params=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” /][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_text]
I don’t know about you, but when I saw the Radiant stencil, I immediately thought of a stained glass window. I love how gorgeous the design is, but yet very clean and modern in style too!
[/fusion_text][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_imageframe image_id=”14624″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”none” bordersize=”” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”” align=”none” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”https://ninamariedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Ink-Blending-with-Dye-Inks-10.jpg” alt=”3 Ways to Use Simon’s Friends Release Products + Blog Hop!” link=”http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/” linktarget=”_blank” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=””]https://ninamariedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Ink-Blending-with-Dye-Inks-10.jpg[/fusion_imageframe][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_text]
I ink blended a background with the stencil and Simon inks; after stenciling, I enhanced the design by adding a pattern around the Radiant “stained glass” background. If you watch the video above, you’ll be able to see all these techniques in a step by step process.

For the greeting, I carried the stained glass inspiration a bit further by incorporating the gorgeous (and new) Stained Glass Love sentiment set into the card. I intentionally balanced the “o” of the word love into the center of the stenciled design, to help anchor everything together.

TIC-TAC-TOE INSPIRED DIE CUTTING

Okay, moving on to card number two! One of the most-unique dies in the Friends release is the Wonky Cross Hatch die. This card stemmed from me seeing and loving this new die set and immediately I thought of a tic tac toe board (I loved that game as a kid!). I pulled out some oldy-but-goody heart dies from Simon and built a super cute card that could easily be given to just about anyone!
[/fusion_text][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_imageframe image_id=”14563″ style_type=”none” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”none” bordersize=”” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”” align=”none” lightbox=”yes” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”https://ninamariedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Tic-Tac-Toe-Die-Cut-Grid-3.jpg” alt=”3 Ways to Use Simon’s Friends Release Products + Blog Hop!” link=”http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/” linktarget=”_blank” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=””]https://ninamariedesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Tic-Tac-Toe-Die-Cut-Grid-3.jpg[/fusion_imageframe][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”10px” bottom_margin=”10px” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_text]
The heart dies are from the Hearts on Parade collage die, as well as the Clipping Heart set. I stuck with a simple and neutral color scheme, but did incorporate a bit of copper metallic! The gorgeous patterned paper behind my tic-tac-toe board is from My Mind’s Eye Blush collection; I love the foiled mini-dots! And the sentiment from Simon’s new Handwritten Love stamp set is heat embossing with copper Penny embossing powder.

Sometimes I get the crazy idea to get myself into patience-testing projects! This card took quite a bit of time to make, but the oh-so-gorgeous effect was totally worth it (and I find the tedious task of adhering loads of die cuts relaxing)! The Modern Flowers die set is absolutely beautiful, and I thought it would be fun to make an entry die cut background with it.

I used many colors of cardstock scraps that I had in my stash (yay for scrap-bin-emptying bonus!). I have only one layer of each flower attached to the card base, which helps keep the card light. The sentiment however was much more dimensional!

One of my favorite cardstocks to use of late is the Tonic Studios Mirror cardstock; this is a foil-effect cardstock that I absolutely love! Here I used Burnished Rose and Pink Chiffon for the top layer on my stack of four white cardstock letters. The greeting is cut using the new Grid Frame die set, which has a cool frame (not used in the card), plus a set of sentiments!
If you are curious about what I used in this card (like those pretty Nuvo drops in the background!), check out the supply list below…
