Hello everyone! I am so excited to be guesting with Mendi Yoshikawa and Sunny Studio Stamps as they celebrate their 2nd Birthday! Can you believe it has already been two years since this incredible company came onto the stamping-scene?? I have always enjoyed using Sunny Studio’s products and was thrilled when Mendi asked me to guest for their 2nd Birthday Celebration Blog Hop! A BIG congrats to you Mendi, my friend!

If you have already been hopping along with us, you should have arrived from the so-very-talented, Kay Miller’s blog (I adore Kay’s cards!). Or, if you are just joining in on the celebration and fun, you can find the entire hop order below!

Also, you can pre-order any of the new release products that Sunny Studio is releasing Sept. 29th HERE (the pre-order is a special bonus for the Birthday celebrations!).

In my cards today I am using the Christmas Home and Christmas Chapel stamp sets. Originally I was intending on creating a card using all of the images in both sets (since they work so well together). However, my card quickly morphed into two, and I really am pleased with how everything came about.

It all stemmed from me die cutting a window using the Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames die set and having the negative piece left over. I couldn’t let the piece go to waste, so I changed gears and the results were the two cards you see here!

All of the images were stamped onto Canson Bristol paper and colored with Copic markers. If you are interested in the colors I used, I have everything listed below:

  • Church: T0, T1, T2, T4, T6, E13, E15, Y21, Y18
  • White picket fences: T0, T2
  • Snowman: T0, R35, G43, Y21
  • Bare trees: E13, E15, E18
  • Evergreen trees and wreaths: G43, G46, R35
  • Blue house: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, R35, R59, T4, T6, T8
  • Yellow house: YR30, Y21, Y26, E13, E15, E18, G94, G99
  • Car: R35, R59, Y21, T6, T8, T0, T2
  • Mailbox: R35, T0, T2
  • Street lamp: T6, T8, Y21

One of my favorite aspects about each card are the details added by using Sakura’s Stardust and Glaze pens. Stardust pens apply a layer of colored shimmer onto your paper, while Glaze pens also add a color layer, but with a bit of slight dimension. Both of these pens are so much fun to use! You can see their presence on both the string lights and the window frames of the houses:

Another fun embellishment on these cards are the gorgeous Snowflakes from Studio Katia! The detail of these snowflakes is simply unbelievable; I share a close-up look at these embellishments in the video below. I paired the Snowflakes in the background of my scenes with one of my favorite Nuvo Drops, White Gloss.

I am so impressed with your cards. They are so adorable. I am 85 yrs. young and I do enjoy the process of card making. It’s very challenging, but when people like you share their talent…it helps so much for people like me. TFS your God given talent to the paper crafting world.
