Happy Saturday everyone! It is the 14th of the month, which means it is time for a new Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit to be revealed! With the winter season in full swing – and Valentine’s Day just a month away – the coffee, tea, hot chocolate and love theme of this kit is simply perfect!

February 2017 Card Kit Simon Says Stamp

A LOOK INTO THE COFFEE, TEA & COCOA CARD KIT

First off, kit contains so many cute products from Simon Says Stamp, Doodlebug and Crate Paper. The Coffee, Tea and Cocoa set, and the darling Coffee Love die both captured my heart when I opened the kit box. The 6×6 Papers and Sprinkle Stickers from Doodlebug’s new Cream and Sugar collection are very happy and cute, a perfect match for the feel of this kit. Also, some pretty embellishments from Crate Paper add the perfect finishing touch to your projects!

The card kit is available at the Simon Says Stamp shop (while supplies last), and almost everything in the kit is also available for individual purchase. I have links for all the products down at the bottom of this post. You can check out the short walk-through video here, which shows all the items in the kit:

Also remember that Simon Says Stamp has card kit galleries that feature inspiration from all of their monthly kits! Plus, the galleries are open for everyone to link up to! So if you create a project with the Coffee Tea and Cocoa kit (or any other Simon brand kit), you can link your project in the gallery for everyone to see! You can find the galleries HERE.

INSPIRATION USING THE COFFEE, TEA & COCOA KIT

So now that you’ve gotten to take a look at the kit, how about some inspiration??

Interactive cards are very popular these days, and I created a surprise flap card with the help of the My Favorite Things Interactive Window Stax die. One of the sentiments in the kit was perfect for pairing with this style of cards; I could stamp part of it on the front and the rest on the inside of the card. My card base was decorated with tone-on-tone stamping (using the Coffee, Tea & Cocoa stamp set) and one of the pattern papers from Doodlebug.

The adorable coffee cut die was cut from white cards stock and I colored it with a few Copic markers. For those of you interested in the color combinations I used to color the travel mug, I have them listed for you here:

  • Lid: W3, W5, W6, W7
  • Travel mug “sleeve”: E13, E15, E18
  • Travel mug: W0, W2
  • Hands: E53
  • Mouth: R21
  • Eyes: E29
  • Heart: RV09

To round out this card, I created a matching envelope using the Surf Blue cardstock (included in the kit), and the We R Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board. To decorate the envelope, I did the same tone-on-tone stamping that I had added to the card base. The travel mug sticker from the Latte Love Sprinkle pack made a great envelope closure, and coordinated well with the mug on the card itself. All the details on how I made this card are in the video, so I hope you will be checking it out!

As a note, I won’t be showing how to make the envelope (to keep the video shorter), but I do have other videos where I walk you through creating envelopes with the 1-2-3 Punch Board. I recommend checking out this video where I created mini Valentine envelopes using Neat & Tangled products.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and checking out the new Coffee, Tea and Cocoa card kit from Simon Says Sta! Stop back again soon, as I have more video tutorials coming up over the next week!
